BRITISH COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT PROPOSES CHANGES TO FILM AND TELEVISION TAX CREDITS - AND A NEW TAX CREDIT FOR INTERACTIVE DIGITAL MEDIA
The province plans to raise the basic Production Services Tax Credit to 33 per cent from 25 per cent, the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) tax credit to 17.5 per cent from 15 per cent and the qualified BC labour expenditures cap to 60 per cent from 48 per cent. In addition, the province proposes a new BC Interactive Digital Media tax credit of 17.5 per cent of eligible BC labour costs. Additional details will be released with the upcoming provincial budget.
